Pe langa versiunea 6 a browserului Firefox, precum si a celor care vor urma, cei de la Mozilla pregatesc inca un lucru pentru utilizatorii sai: ascunderea versiunii pe care browserul o are. Cu totii stim ca versiunea browserului poate fi vizualizata din meniul Help sectiunea About Firefox. Asa Dotzler despre aceasta schimbare: in the future, users will not be shown what version of Firefox they are running. Instead, the browser will say when it checked for updates last, and if the browser was up to date when that check was made. This would mean users would, when connected to the internet, typically see “You are running the latest version”. More detailed information would be available for troubleshooting purposes by entering about:support in the URL field or selecting “Help/Troubleshooting information”. Personal si mie mi se pare o idee tampita, deoarece imi place sa stiu ce versiune are un program pe care mi-l instalaz. Nu pot decat sa sper decat ca cei de la Mozilla vor asculta opiniile utilizatorilor si se vor gandi bine inainte de a face asta, fara sa recurga la cenzura si respectiv stergerea de posturi care criticau asta.
