Debian GNU/Linux 6.0

Vesti bune pentru utilizatorii distributiei Debian: a fost lansat Debian GNU/Linux 6.0, avand numele de cod Squeeze.
“After 24 months of constant development, the Debian project is proud to present its new stable version 6.0 (code name ‘Squeeze’). Debian 6.0 is a free operating system, coming for the first time in two flavours. Alongside Debian GNU/Linux, Debian GNU/kFreeBSD is introduced with this version as a ‘technology preview’. Debian 6.0 includes the KDE Plasma Desktop and Applications, the GNOME, Xfce, and LXDE desktop environments as well as all kinds of server applications. It also features compatibility with the FHS v2.3 and software developed for version 3.2 of the LSB. Debian runs on computers ranging from palmtops and handheld systems to supercomputers, and on nearly everything in between. A total of nine architectures are supported by Debian GNU/Linux.

O data cu aparitia Debian GNU/Linux 6.0, dezvoltatorii distributiei s-au gandit sa faca cateva modificari estetice si principalelor site-uri Debian. Site-uri precum http://www.debian.org, http://wiki.debian.org, http://packages.debian.org, http://planet.debian.org si http://lists.debian.org au incepand de astazi “un chip” nou, care este in ton cu noua versiune stabila a distributiei.
Cum obtinem Debian GNU/Linux 6.0:
Fie ca este vorba de un prim contact cu aceasta distributie sau de un upgrade, Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 poate fi descarcat de pe urmatoarele mirror-uri din Romania(nu disperati daca imaginile nu sunt prezente, posibil ca mirror-urile sa fie in curs de sincronizare cu site-ul principal: http://ftp.iasi.roedu.net/mirrors/ftp.debian.org/debian-cd/ sau ftp://ftp.lug.ro/debian-cd/. Daca banda de internet va permite puteti obtine Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 si de pe mirror-uri internationale HTTP/FTP, sau folosind un client BitTorrent sau Jigdo. Personal va recomand sa accesati si acest link ce contine documentatia distributiei mai ales daca sunteti la primul contact cu Debian. Indiferent ca faceti upgrade sau “fresh install” va doresc mult spor ! :)
